The eight Championship Dynasty Rookie Draft is behind us. The 2025 class was touted as deep and great at the RB and TE positions, both of which are relatively thin for dynasty.

We have graded all 12 draft classes to identify the direction each manager took, and whether their risks are likely to pay off this season and beyond.

HChishty

Picks

Ashton Jeanty, RB, LV - 1.01

Coleston Loveland, TE, CHI - 2.01

Harold Fannin, TE, CLE - 3.01

Jacquez Hunter, RB, LAR - 3.06

HChishty had a lot of needs going into this draft, although they hit on picks last year. Jeanty was a clear pick at 1.01, and will soon become a cornerstone player for them at a position with few stars. The picks of Loveland and Fannin were strange - HChishty already has LaPorta on the roster, so the investment of two top of the round picks on this position when there are other needs may have been suboptimal. Hunter is a good dart throw RB near the end of the draft, and may be able to slot in as a starter if Kyren Williams goes down.

More help at receiver could have helped this class, but even Jeanty on his own would make this class a success.

Draft Grade: B+

MQNKEYMATT

Picks

Omarion Hampton, RB, LAC - 1.02

Jack Bech, WR, LV - 2.08

Bayshul Tuten, RB, JAX, 2.0

Dylan Sampson, RB, CLE, 3.02

D.J. Giddens, RB, IND - 3.11

MQNKEYMATT's draft class last year has been little to write home about, so there remains needs on this roster. RB was the clear need and they filled this with Hampton, the consensus 2nd overall pick. The players they picked afterwards may not all be in great situations (behind stars or in sub-par offences) but they were mostly highly-touted draft prospects.

MQNKEYMATT loaded up on RB, and with the two best WRs in the NFL on their roster this was a strong strategy to get back to contending.

Draft Grade: A

jackmeenan

Picks

Tetairoa McMillan, WR, CAR - 1.03

Cam Skattebo, RB, NYG - 2.03

Jaylen Royals, WR, KC - 3.03

Jackmeenan went back to back with first WRs drafted after going with Marvin Harrison last year. The jury is still out but the duo of those two could be at least reliable WR starters for jackmeenan, a good plan given their other options are near aging out.

With their lack of RB depth Skattebo makes sense, but taking a fourth round RB as a high second round pick is a bold choice. Royals is arguably a reach at 3.03 as a late fourth round pick, but given that jackmeenan rosters Rashee Rice Royals could be some insurance.

Draft Grade: B

ajcsmit

Picks

Elic Ayomanor, WR, TEN - 3.04

ajcsmit sadly had few picks in this draft, having traded away their first for Derrick Henry last year. Their roster does seem to be aging, but still features stars, so the strategy of trying to compete each year could pay off.

Their only pick was Stanford WR Elic Ayomanor - I've got a special place in my heart for Ayomanor as he was a star transfer in my NCAA franchise, and was a fair pick here at 3.04. Other higher drafted prospects were available, but Ayomanor has the opportunity to contribute early in his career.

Draft Grade: B+

leathershoe4

Picks

Tre'veyon Henderson, RB, NE - 1.05

Emeka Egbuka, WR, TB - 1.09

Kyle Williams, WR, NE - 2.08

leathershoe4's team is one that could go both ways - they have some stars and prospects that could get them far next year, but these are thin on the ground and a rebuild could be a choice here.

They decide to keep competing - not only picking players here, but trading their 2nd away next year for another.

Their picks are good ones - Henderson was near the bottom of the top tier before a drop-off, and Egbuka should at minimum be a reliable FLEX player. Williams has a shot to be a productive player for the pats - although giving up a second and third round pick to get him is a high price.

Only time will tell if the strategy of competing for this year will pay off.

Draft Grade: B+

Scuba_Eli

Picks

Travis Hunter, WR, JAX - 1.04

Quinshon Judkins, RB, CLE - 1.06

Jayden Higgins, WR, HOU - 2.05

Mason Taylor, TE, NYJ - 2.06

This may be my favourite class. Scuba_Eli needed to reload their roster after trading away Derrick Henry and other players aging out. They picked the highest drafted WR in the NFL draft, the last of the starting RBs plus a top of the 2nd round WR and TE. All of their players are not guaranteed high volume, but in the NFL nowadays few players are, and Scuba_Eli is clearly banking on talent.

Scuba_Eli went with a strategy of drafting highly-drafted NFL prospects as often as possible, and they may have walked away with starters at every position. With the depth in the class it may have been prudent to try and trade down and get more picks, but you can't fault getting stars as often as you can.

Draft Grade: A+

AndyP

Picks

Kaleb Johnson, RB, PIT - 1.07

Devin Neal, RB, NO - 3.07

Somewhat fittingly, AndyP went with the opposite strategy from Scuba_Eli. Johnson and Neal are third and sixth round NFL picks respectively, low for their draft spots here, but both have very clear paths to NFL work.

I agree with the RB approach - AndyP's historic strength at RB is aging so a reload was necessary - but drafting against NFL draft pedigree is a risky move. AndyP also had a need at WR, so getting some help here would have been prudent.

Draft Grade: B-

amccann

Picks

Tyler Warren, TE, IND - 1.08

Tyler Ferguson, TE, LAR - 3.05

Pat Bryant, WR, DEN - 3.08

amccann knocked it out of the park last year drafting Brian Thomas and getting Bucky Irving off waivers. They are clearly spooked by the Mark Andrews rumours, and committed to shoring up that position. Warren and Ferguson are both good values at their position, and between them should yield at least an average starting TE.

They got great value for their 2.08 pick, and Bryant is a fair dart throw with his relatively high draft position. TE is always going to have a value ceiling, but this is a really solid class for amccann, continuing their upward trajectory.

Draft Grade: A

bdawg

Picks

Jaydon Blue, RB, DAL - 2.09

Jalen Milroe, QB, SEA - 3.09

bdawg's long rebuild is coming to a close - their roster is sturdy and they traded their first round pick away to help them compete. Firmly a playoff team, they look to bolster their roster in this draft.

Blue and Milroe are bold choices - Blue has opportunity in a weak Cowboys RB room, but is a fifth round NFL pick. Milroe could have the Jalen Hurts QB career arc, but that is a long shot - plus bdawg already has Lamar Jackson on their roster, so has little need of a high-ceiling running QB.

Given their low picks there were few stars available, but the risks bdawg took here are a bit rich for me.

Draft Grade: C+

Wham921

Picks

Matthew Golden, WR, GB - 1.10

Cam Ward, QB, TEN - 2.10

Jaylin Noel, WR, HOU - 2.11

Isaac TeSlaa - WR, DET - 3.10

Wham921 again has few needs, and had the luxury of going BPA in this draft. It's surprising they weren't able to trade up, as packaging these picks for one star may have fit their team better - but my sources tell me few managers were moving off their picks.

Golden is a fair pick as a highly-drafted WR - but I don't know if he'll see starting time in Wham921's strong WR room, especially in a crowded GB receiving corps. Ward is a great pick at the end of the second, especially with Anthony Richardson not panning out as hoped.

Jaylin Noel and Isaac TeSlaa are both WRs with high draft capital, so could find themselves as a FLEX player or bye-week fill in.

Wham921's class left them with a very deep roster with few needs, but does it have the studs to win the Championship?

Draft Grade: A-

RobbieK

Picks

R.J. Harvey, RB, DEN - 1.11

Tre Harris, WR, LAC - 2.01

RobbieK came into this draft with 5 picks and somehow only made two of them. Two of their picks they traded for James Conner and Roman Wilson; and another they used to trade up for Tre Harris.

RobbieK's roster isn't quite as deep as Wham921's, so they used their picks to bolster a thin RB room into a real contender, with multiple options at the position. Harvey is an old back, but may immediately produce for Sean Payton in Denver.

Harris was a strong trade-up option, as he may occupy the X role in Los Angeles, and the WRs after him were all in more crowded situations or in worse offenses.

RobbieK didn't need much to get them the 3 points needed to win the Championship, and this draft may have given them that small boost to do so.

Draft Grade: A-

Xuande

Picks

Luther Burden, WR, CHI - 1.12 Ollie Gordon, RB, MIA - 2.12

Travis Etienne, RB, CAR - 3.12

Our Champion has often picked in the last few picks of the draft, but still has the roster to get the job done. Luther Burden was one of the higher viewed prospects pre-draft, and although he goes to a crowded offense in Chicago the value at 1.12 is fair.

Xuande often turns late drafted RBs into unremarkable but important contributors to their team, so grabbing Gordon and Etienne fits their strategy. Ironically, Gordon was drafted long after Etienne in the NFL Draft so was arguably a reach at 2.12, but given Brook's injury in Carolina Etienne is equally a value.

Draft Grade: B+
