In the second on our Building a Champion series, we delve into AndyP's 2023 Championship Roster. Only 2 years removed from another Championship, AndyP's roster withstood injuries to come out on top, defined by consistent players at almost every position but particularly running back. Where others lacked productive talent at the position, AndyP had high scorers across the board.

QB: Baker Mayfield

Drafted 1.12 in 2018

Kirk Cousins led AndyP to many early victories, but after he went down in Week 8 Baker Mayfield stepped up. Mayfield turned in a surprise resurgent year - he has never lived up to the first round pick AndyP spend on them, but this year he turned in a QB9 performance, consistently putting up 18+ points in the back half of the year.

RB: Rachaad White

Drafted 1.12 in 2022

Perhaps a reach as a first round pick in 2022, AndyP ensured they continued their tradition of solid RBs. The second of three Buccaneers, White had a surprise RB5 season in his second year, one of three top-5 RBs on AndyP's roster.

RB: Kyren Williams

Traded for with HChishty in 2023 - acquired Kyren Williams for 2024 2nd

When AndyP traded for Williams, he had a strong start to the season - but a 2nd was expensive for a fifth round NFL pick. Williams proved to be a huge value, finishing as RB4 despite missing 4 weeks, and may prove to be a long-term contribution at the position.

WR: Cooper Kupp

Drafted 6.3 in the 2018 Startup Draft

One of the great values of the startup draft, Kupp was taken after such stars as Corey Davis, Alshon Jeffrey, Devin Funchess and Josh Gordon. Kupp has turned in two top-5 WR seasons since, and while he was not a star this year, he had some blowup games that won matchups for his manager.

WR: Mike Evans

Drafted 1.12 in the 2018 Startup Draft

In a first round littered with players now out of the league or irrelevant, Evans was a great pick at 1.12. He famously puts in a 1,000 yard season every year - this year being no exception, finishing the year as WR4, his highest since 2016. The third Buc on their starting roster, AndyP has a lot to thank Tampa Bay for.

TE: Dallas Goedert

Drafted 3.3 in 2018

Third round picks have a very low hit rate, but AndyP hit gold with Goedert. A third round pick is very cheap for a TE that has had 3 TE1 seasons - this year finishing just outside that as the TE14. Goedert rarely blew you away with his performance, but was good enough in a relatively sparse TE landscape.

FLEX: D'Andre Swift

Traded for with tburchfield in 2020 - acquired D'Andre Swift for Tyler Lockett and 2021 2nd (Rondale Moore)

Swift has had a rollercoaster fantasy career so far - from draft darling to bust to hopeful to Eagle. Swift had the potential for huge games - he only finished as the RB17 (his career-highest finish) but complemented Etienne, Williams and White well; and filled in nicely when AndyP lost Nick Chubb.

FLEX: Travis Etienne

Drafted 1.03 in 2021

Somehow Etienne was AndyP's best performer at RB - above White at RB5 and Williams at RB4. The RB3 on the season, Etienne had consistent performances accented with blowup games, putting in 5 games with 20+ points. Drafting Etienne at 1.03 was a great choice, with almost none of the other RBs in the 2021 class panning out, and 8 of the 12 picks in the first round of that year arguably being disappointments.
