The 2023 NFL Draft is only a month away, and - more importantly - the Championship Dynasty Draft creeps closer. The 2023 class has been one of the more hyped of recent years, but will it live up to expectations? What surprises are in store for the league in its sixth year? How will Wham921 navigate their 3 first round picks? Read more to find out how it could go down in this pre-NFL Draft mock.
1.01 - bdawg
Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas
The best RB prospect in some time, most likely the only way that bdawg does not make this pick is if someone makes an offer for the 1.01. Slowly gaining valuable pieces, Robinson would be an instant star on bdawg's roster, and hopefully be the turning point that puts bdawg into contention.
1.02 - jackmeenan
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama
With needs at RB and WR, jackmeenan could go multiple ways here, but the Alabama stud RB would be a valuable addition. With little depth behind Taylor, Gibbs would be plug-in RB2; and jackmeenan would hope that Gibb's receiving ability would provide both a solid floor and high upside.
1.03 - RobbieK
Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA
Despite trading for Saquon, RobbieK's roster still needs help at the RB position, despite attempts to draft quality starters. They opt for the next best available RB here, and will hope that Charbonnet's 3-down ability will supplement their WR corps to be a solid starter for years to come.
1.04 - Wham921 via MQNKEYMATT
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State
The first of 3 picks in this round, Wham921 has surprising quality on their roster, so their options are open. Here, they draft the likely first WR drafted. Smith-Njigba may not blaze defenses with his speed, but his exceptional agility should provide Wham921 with at minimum a FLEX play to supplement their stars at the position.
1.05 - AndyP
Quentin Johnson, WR, TCU
One of the few teams with quality depth at the RB position, AndyP can target the next best WR here. With a WR1 frame, AndyP would hope that Johnson could provide insurance for their WRs that may be aging, and let their RBs carry their team back to the playoffs.
1.06 - Wham921
Devon Achane, RB, Texas A&M
Already drafting a WR at 1.04, Wham921 takes aim at a small but electric RB. You can never have too many RBs in fantasy, so they will hope Achane will provide the explosive plays needed to win matchups in the league.
1.07 - amccann
Jordan Addison, WR, USC
Despite drafting Dotson last year and recently trading for Mike Williams, amcann's WR group could still use some reinforcements. A Biletnikoff winner, Addison will hopefully be a valuable addition to amcann's roster, and develop into a star that will rise above the level of solid - but not exceptional - WRs.
1.08 - HChishty via leathershoe4
Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College
Having gained this pick from trading away Tyreek Hill, HChishty goes younger at the position here and grabs Flowers. Although not particularly big or fast, Flowers may prove to be a high-volume receiver that can help retool HChishty's roster and provide a young foundation.
1.09 - RobbieK via ajcsmit Kendre Miller, RB, TCU
Reminiscent of their first rookie draft in 2018 where they took Kerryon Johnson and Royce Freeman in the first round, RobbieK doubles up on RBs here. Miller's between-the-tackles ability would provide RobbieK with an ideal RB2, who may not score 20 points in a week due to his lack of pass-catching, but even a startable RB is an upgrade for them.
1.10 - leathershoe4 via Scuba_Eli
Josh Downs WR, North Carolina
A big change from last year, this is leathershoe4's only first round pick, and a late one. With a lot of young talent already and a trade for Tyreek under their belt, they can go in many directions, so chooses the next best WR here. Downs may not have the big-play ability of leathershoe4's other young receivers, but may provide insurance should those others not live up to expectations.
1.11 - Wham921 via HChishty
Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame
Wham921 has young stars across the board, so can afford to pick a non-premium position here. Likely the first TE drafted and drafted in the first round, Mayer should prove an upgrade over Wham921's current TE room, or at least another high-ceiling prospect at the position.
1.12 - Xuande
Sean Tucker, RB, Syracuse
The defending champion could go in a few directions with this pick, and there are still valuable players to be had. With an aging RB corps, they pick up the 21 year old Tucker to revitalise the position, and will hope that they make an instant impact (as RB rookies often do) and help them to a repeat Championship.
