The Combine is past us, Wave 1 of Free Agency is in the books - so we look eagerly to April, and the NFL Draft. 2024 presents a strong class at a lot of positions, and the teams of Championship Dynasty have a lot of needs to fill.
This year most teams own their own firsts, barring only leathershoe4 and Xuande; both of whom sold their first in pursuit of a Championship.
Past 1.0 mocks have an awful rate of accuracy - but nevertheless, let's see how the board looks a month ahead of the draft.
1.01 - jackmeenan
Marvin Harrison, WR, Ohio State
The best WR prospect since Ja'marr Chase, Harrison is almost a lock for number 1. Lacking a true WR1 for their team, Harrison will be an immediate plug-and-play WR for jackmeenan and a cornerstone piece for their team.
1.02 - HChishty
Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
In any other (and possibly still this) year Nabers might be WR1 - his speed and hands will benefit whichever NFL team he graces. HChishty has a few splash players at WR, so will hope that Nabers can provide both big play ability and consistency.
1.03 - MQNKEYMATT
Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
MQNKEYMATT still has by far the two best starting WRs in Jefferson and Chase, but an RB would be too much of a reach here. Instead, Odunze should be a solid addition to their FLEX spots, further building on a strength.
1.04 - RobbieK
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU
Desperate for an RB, picking one at 4 would be too much of a reach. After spending two first round picks on TE last year, RobbieK locks up a promising WR who may go to a contending team like the Bills or the Chiefs in the Draft. Being an LSU fan doesn't hurt either.
1.05 - bdawg
Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas
After picking Bijan last year and still holding Lamar and Hockenson, WR is the clear steer here. Bdawg picks 4.21 Worthy - teams have drafted speed highly over the past few years, but Worthy has the production to back it up, and bdawg will hope he can replicate that in the NFL.
1.06 - Scuba_Eli
Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
This is a key turning point for Scuba_Eli. Their perennial contender is aging - Ekeler, Henry, Diggs, Kelce, Jones - all are approaching the end of their careers. Here, they get ready for Kelce's departure with an excellent TE prospect that is due to be drafted very highly, and will hopefully replace a HOF tight end with another.
1.07 - amccann
Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas
Amcann could go a few directions here, but BPA is always a good strategy. Mitchell had a very strong year at Texas this year and had a good combine performance of his own, even if his Texas teammate overshadowed him. They will join a busy WR room, where amccann will hope they will rise above the others to be a true WR1.
1.08 - RobbieK via leathershoe4
Jonathon Brooks, RB, Texas
Their second first round pick, RobbieK addresses a glaring need and picks up an RB. Despite it being a weaker RB class, RobbieK can't trot out CEH as a starter, so picks up Brooks. Stuck behind Bijan at Texas, Brooks is a great athlete in his own right. With how rookie RBs are often used early nowadays, RobbieK will hope to start Brooks from Day 1.
1.09 - ajcsmit Caleb Williams, QB, USC
Ajcsmit is strong at a lot of positions - they have made moves in recent years to shore up QB, but have not found a true elite QB. They shoot for one here - Williams will be the #1 pick, and his running ability and strong arm should yield plenty of fantasy points and possibly get ajcsmit to the Championship.
1.10 - Wham921
Blake Corum, RB, Michigan
Wham921 has a few options at RB, but many have taken a hit this offseason (like Robinson & Chandler) or have an unlikely path to production. They take a very productive RB here - although Corum has athletic and size concerns, Wham921 will hope Corum can get enough volume to slot in at their RB spots.
1.11 - HChishty via Xuande
Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
Having already picked Nabers, HChishty picks his college teammate here. HChishty has a few needs, but only has Murray as a real QB option - and another can never hurt. Daniels' running ability may be a cheat code in the NFL, and his deep passing should add big plays to HChishty's fantasy score.
1.12 - AndyP
Keon Coleman, WR, FSU
The defending champion could go in a few directions with this pick - I've mocked QB to them regularly, but they seem content with Cousins and Mayfield. Still with a strong RB corps, AndyP picks up Coleman - perhaps not the fastest WR, but he could assume a Deebo-esque role in the NFL, which AndyP would be very happy with at the end of the first.
